Location: Paris, France
The Cité de la Musique ("City of Music"), also known as Philharmonie 2, is a group of institutions dedicated to music and situated in the Parc de la Villette, 19th arrondissement of Paris, France. It was designed with the nearby Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP) by the architect Christian de Portzamparc and opened in 1995. Part of François Mitterrand's Grands Projets, the Cité de la Musique reinvented La Villette – the former slaughterhouse district.
Designed by the architect Christian de Portzamparc, the building houses concert halls, a museum and a media library containing 100,000 documents. The Cité de la Musique organises almost 250 concerts per year, welcoming French and international artists, vocal or instrumental works and creating partnerships with the Salle Pleyel to further enrich the musical programme on offer.
Ateïs provided a complete EN54-compliant public address and voice alarm system to meet both safety and comfort audio needs. The installation is based on the IDA8 platform, ensuring high intelligibility, full redundancy, and centralized control. A Magellan Desk operator console was integrated for efficient paging, supervision, and emergency announcements throughout the shopping center.
