Our History – 40 Years of PA/VA Innovation

ATEÏS reinforces its R&D team in the Netherlands and launches a new system that isolates a faulty loudspeaker line section.

The new system isolates a faulty section of a loudspeaker line, so the rest of the installation stays audible during an emergency. The R&D reinforcement in the Netherlands speeds up the next generation of PA/VA solutions.

The BOUTIQUE PA/VA system, introduced in 2015, is certified to EN 54 and suits installations of any size.

Easy to use, easy to integrate and extremely low in power consumption, BOUTIQUE combines compliance with eco-friendly design.

ATEÏS creates ATEÏS Iberia for Spain, Portugal and Andorra, and ATEÏS Deutschland GmbH for Germany.

After a very successful presence in the Spanish market and numerous prestige projects, ATEÏS Iberia S.L. serves customers in Spain, Portugal and Andorra. The German subsidiary brings ATEÏS closer to customers and partners in Germany.

ATEÏS introduces PRIMA VA, a voice alarm system designed to meet EN 54-16, the European standard for voice alarm control and indicating equipment.

ATEÏS develops Vox@net G2, the second generation of its audio over IP platform, while flagship projects show ATEÏS leading the way.

Flagship projects such as Paris Metro, Zürich Airport, Stadium of Geneva, UNESCO Head Office, Zagreb "Franjo Tudjman" Airport, Signal Iduna Park and IKEA Bayonne. ATEÏS also researches more eco-friendly products that stay efficient.

New sales and business development partners open ATEÏS to new markets across Europe and North Africa.

ATEÏS recruits new partners to open up new markets and customer service in the Nordics & Baltics, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and North Africa.

ATEÏS answers EN 54 with the IDA8 controller and makes networking its signature.

Alongside DIVA8, the IDA8 controller meets EN 54-16, EN 54-24 and EN 54-4. With over 30 loudspeakers, two VACIE sets and voice alarm networking over IP, fiber-optic and copper in redundant modes, ATEÏS is ready to compete.

ATEÏS launches Vox@net, its in-house server software for PA and evacuation audio over IP.

Vox@net runs on Ethernet/IP networks. From a central server or operator unit it handles microphone calls, pre-recorded messages and music routing. Its first integration took place at SNCF for remote zone messaging over IP.

A partnership with PCI, a world leader in speaker and electronics manufacturing, combines R&D and production.

ATEÏS adds a top-range loudspeaker line and audio matrices to its portfolio, while staying strong in customized industrialization and European standards.

From the SAM audio matrix for SNCF to fully digital EN 60849 systems, ATEÏS leaves classic 100 V sound behind.

After a successful pilot at Lyon station, the SAM 100 & 200 audio matrix became a must-have for rail stations. In 2002, new French safety rules for public buildings (ERP) ended the analog era: ATEÏS built all its PA/VA systems on a digital architecture compliant with EN 60849, and customers such as SNCF, RATP and numerous French airports chose ATEÏS.

A team of engineers brings computers into broadcast audio mixing and builds the first computerized mixing consoles.

The team also develops tailored audio solutions for niche markets, laying the technical foundations of a company that would later specialize in professional PA/VA systems.
